Maintaining Bone and Joint Health in Seniors

10/1/2018

As we age our bones become brittle and can often lose their density throughout the years. Our senior living community is dedicated to ensuring resident wellness in eight dimensions, with physical wellness included.

In honor of Bone and Joint Health Action Week, our senior living community in Colorado Springs wants to raise awareness of how you can start taking action to improve your bone and joint health at any age.
Maintaining Bone and Joint Health in Seniors
Get Physical
Aside from being a hit song in the 80s, getting physical is a great way to improve your bone and joint health. Connecting with one of our fitness experts is a great way to modify and specialize a physical fitness routine in a safe and secure way as you work to nourish your body’s well-being.
Get Nourished by Calcium
Even if a senior resident is already experiencing bone loss and osteoporosis, there are actions that can be taken to avoid injury. Ensuring that calcium-rich foods are incorporated into your diet is a great start. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, food like broccoli, kale, beans and yogurt are a great way to nourish your bones.
Consult Your Doctor
As always, connect with your doctor to identify customized opportunities that are best for your body to improve your health and well-being.
