Create a Binder

• Gather all of your key dates and moving milestones and file into one place to stay organized and that can easily be referenced.
• Create a checklist of tasks that need to be completed with deadlines next to them.
• File all contact information you receive from community visits.
• Create a tab for estimates and receipts.

Make a detailed list of items that you plan to take and plan to sell or donate

• Before putting your house on the market, get it appraised and make necessary repairs.

• Consider a real estate agent for the job. They are experts and can make the process less stressful.

Get to Know Your Neighbors

• Meet with your sales counselor of the new community and get to know staff and other residents ahead of time. There are often mix and mingle events available to attend with friends and family to ease into the transition.
