Moving to a Senior Living Home - A Resident Review

​Assisted Living resident, Pat Shaw, recently sat down with KKTV 11 News to talk about why she and her family chose Melody Living’s assisted living community to be her home in this new chapter of her life.

​When asked what drew them into the Melody Living community, they shared that the touring process can be incredibly overwhelming when looking for the perfect place for a loved one. Melody Living made that process easy! 

They explained that finding the right level of care, attentive and kind staff, and valuable resources for both the resident and their loved ones seemed like a difficult task to fulfill.

​When the Shaw family initially met with Melody Living, they noted how the staff was able to provide every facet of information they were looking for as well as share a key aspect that was important for Pat as she recently had some complications.

The Shaw family was no longer able to keep up with the level of care that Pat required after suffering from a few falls while still living at home. There were many things that made Melody Living the right choice for Pat including the unique care partners at Melody Living, such as Paxxon Healthcare Services. Pat connects with Paxxon on a weekly basis for physical therapy to help with recovery and maintaining her ongoing physical health.
 
Pat also loves that Melody Living gives every resident a medical alert lanyard that will alert staff if a resident is in need of assistance. She said the addition made her feel safe and secure to know that her needs would always be taken care of.

Another draw for the Shaw family and especially Pat was the expansive and intentionally designed space that Melody Living offered not only in the common areas but also in residents' rooms.

​Pat loves sitting at her apartment window in the evening to relax while looking out at the city of Colorado Springs lit up with Pikes Peak in the distance.

Pat says her favorite part of life at Melody Living is not having to cook or do dishes anymore. Instead, she gets to be treated to fine dining three times a day from our in-house chef using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients for every meal.
