Independent Living - Veterans Day Celebration

Melody Living Colorado Springs’ independent living community is proud to be home to so many veterans. This Veterans Day, we are highlighting some of our community residents who have served our country to honor them and say, "Thank you.”

• Tom F. served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He was able to travel all across the world and the United States throughout his service. He says his favorite place was Taiwan. His grandson is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, continuing Tom’s legacy.
• Glen L. served in the U.S. Air Force for a total of 35 years. His favorite place he traveled to was Cheyenne, Wyoming.
• Barbara F. is a military spouse.Her husband served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. She and her husband lived overseas for 11 years during his military service. 
• Teri M. served in the U.S. Navy for more than ten years. She has three children and a history of military service in her family dating back to the Civil War.
• Kathleen “Kathy” H. served in the U.S. Air Force for six years and was in the reserves for nine years. She has traveled to Korea and Japan during her missions.
• Harold H. served in the New Mexico National Guard for eight years. He has two children, 14 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
• Roger B. served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. He traveled between Denver, Los Angeles, and San Diego while working for Space Command.
