Meet Madison at Melody Living Assisted Living and Memory Care

​Meet Madison, Melody Living’s assisted living and memory care Life Enrichment Director!
 
Madison was born and raised here in Colorado Springs. She moved to Fort Collins to attend college at Colorado State University and moved back to the Springs after graduation. Madison’s family consists of herself, her mom, her dad, her younger brother who is currently attending CU Boulder, and of course her dog, Griffin.
 
Madison enjoys trying out new restaurants and coffee shops in the Colorado Springs area as well as exploring new hiking trails. She also loves attending sporting events in Denver like watching Avalanche or Rockies games depending on the season. She says her family also spends time together in Breckenridge, either skiing, ATVing, or shopping downtown.

​In her free time, Madison enjoys doing yoga, cooking, baking, hiking, and skiing in the winter or ATVing in the summer. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because of the time she gets to spend with her family, and because she loves buying people gifts! Her favorite places she has traveled to are Hawaii and the Bahamas. A fun fact about Madison is that she’s been skydiving! She went for the first time for her birthday this year and said it was the best experience ever.
 
As the Life Enrichment Director at Melody Living assisted living and memory care, Madison focuses on encompassing many of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness to develop and maintain a strong quality of life for our residents.

​She plans and executes all of the daily activities and events for residents, and occasionally their families, to partake in. Madison says her favorite part of the job is the daily interactions with the residents who participate in activities and seeing the joy it brings them to engage in an activity they love.

The Life Enrichment program is a vital part of any senior living community. Activity professionals organize events for every dimension of wellness. They help to improve residents’ emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. Ensuring that all of these dimensions are captured in a wellness program is incredibly important for each resident’s quality of life.
 
Madison’s background is in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Before becoming the Life Enrichment Director at Melody Living, she was a Fitness Instructor for many years.

She worked with every age group apart from seniors, so she wanted to explore the demographic further. Upon graduating college, Madison interned at a behavioral health hospital as a Recreation Therapist and enjoyed incorporating not just fitness, but all aspects of health and wellness into patients’ lives.

We’re so glad she chose to continue her passion for wellness here at Melody Living.
