Above: Melody Living in Colorado Springs offers weekly Happy Hour for seniors
We love hosting Happy Hour every Friday night at Melody Living with live music! It’s a great opportunity for residents, their neighbors and our staff to come together for complimentary appetizers, an open bar and lots of fun. Our themes this month are Cinco de Mayo, a Salute to Norway, Tributes to Moms and Good Ol’ USA.
We recognize the importance of integrating a strong culture within our senior living community which is why we treasure being able to offer these social occasions each week and encourage our senior residents to help pick the themes.

The Benefit of Socializing Research shows that socialization for older adults is important because it increases cardiovascular health and improves the immune system. Studies also suggest that high levels of socialization in seniors help increase longevity and reduces the likelihood that seniors will experience depression and the feeling of isolation and loneliness.
The Benefit of Music Studies also show that music has a profoundly positive affect on the brain and well-being of a person. Music has been found to stimulate parts of the brain and studies conducted at UC Irvine show that music can actually enhance the memory of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, especially when listening to classical music.
Friends and family are always welcome to join you for these special occasions! We also welcome a variety of performers from the Colorado Springs community to join us.
