Assisted Living Fitness Routine for Seniors

Staying active is vital for overall wellness, especially in your golden years. Here’s a simple 30-minute workout tailored for seniors. No equipment is needed—just your own body weight! Our senior wellness team at Melody Living in Colorado Springs put these activities together for residents and their loved ones to enjoy!
Fitness Routine:
Warm-Up: Gentle stretches for 5 minutes. Focus on shoulders, neck, and legs. Slowly roll your shoulders, stretch your arms overhead, and gently bend side to side to loosen up.
Workout:
1. Chair Sit-to-Stands (10 reps): Sit on a sturdy chair, then stand up and sit back down slowly.
2. Wall Push-Ups (10 reps): Place your hands on the wall and push away gently, keeping your back straight.
3. Marching in Place (2 minutes): Lift your knees one at a time as if you’re marching.
4. Seated Leg Lifts (10 reps per leg): Sit on a chair and extend one leg at a time, holding for a few seconds.
5. Cool-Down: Stretch arms, legs, and back gently for 5 minutes. Hold each stretch for about 20 seconds and breathe deeply.
